The Frog Princess is an animated film currently in development by Walt Disney Feature Animation. The film is based on the best selling children's book "The Frog Princess" by Elizabeth Baker. It will be the first traditionally animated (2-D) feature film in Disney's animated features canon since 2004's Home on the Range.

Frog to introduce African American princess?
The Sea of Waking Dreams has some interesting information regarding Disney's upcoming traditionally-animated The Frog Princess. Rumor has it that the project's princess might be African American, with the story taking place in a "New Orleans-ish setting." Furthermore, the article writes that Frog Princess may sport a Jazz soundtrack. On Monday, it was reported that Randy Newman [rather than Alan Menken] will compose the movie's music.

A jazz soundtrack and New Orleans-ish setting would be brilliant.  African American princess might be quite good too, as long as there's some kind of reasoning behind it and it's not to just make the Disney Princesses line politically correct. :?
